Awards

The New York Histotechnological Society offers awards and in cooperation with corporate sponsors, scholarships to its members in order to recognize their contributions and efforts and to provide access to continuing education at annual symposia. The Awards Committee, formed from the Officers and Directors of the society, solicit nominees for awards and scholarships throughout the year. The committee evaluates applications and supporting documentation submitted by the nominee or their designate.  Recipients are notified of their award and encouraged to attend the New York State Histotechnological Society annual spring meeting where they are presented their award during the awards luncheon.

Society Recognition of Members

From time to time, the Board of Directors may confer the title of “Fellow of the Society” to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the society and the field. Fellows of the Society have all the rights and privileges of membership but do not pay dues.

The Board may also bestow the title of “Honorary Member” in recognition of an individual who has substantially contributed to the society or field. Individuals who receive this recognition do not pay membership dues
